The Graduate Studies and Research Division (GSRD) of the University of Bridgeport offers new and exciting degree programs and research opportunities at the Masters and Doctorate levels, inter-disciplinary graduate degree concentrations, dual graduate degree options and professional graduate certificates in a variety of growth oriented fields. These innovative inter-disciplinary programs provide students with a variety of career enhancement options responsive to growing employer and employee needs for multiple competencies and skills in
today's and tomorrow's demanding global professional work force. The division offers more than 200 Full-Paid Scholarships and/or Stipends, Graduate Assistantships, Teaching Assistantships, and Research Assistanships per year for graduate students. UB offers excellent post-graduation job placement opportunities for both domestic and international students, with more than 600 companies, school
districts, reserach labs. and industries who have employed our graduates in the last several years.
The inter-disciplinary graduate concentrations may be
incorporated into the graduate programs offered by the
Colleges of Business, Engineering and/or Education & Human
Resources or embedded within a dual graduate degree program.
Students can elect to enroll in one or more graduate
degrees at the Masters level in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Technology Management, MBA (Masters of Business
Administration) or the M.S. in MSIT (Masters of Science in
Instructional Technology) program. The division also offers
a Ph.D. program in Computer Science and Computer Engineering
; and an Ed.D. program in Education.
The interdisciplinary graduate degree or certificate
concentrations include: Accounting; Automation and Robotics;

UB's graduate programs and instructional philosophy
emphasizes real-life experiences through extensive hands-on
laboratory-based training, co-ops and paid internships. The
GSRD has established very strong relationships with industry
in the last few years through an active Center for
Interdisciplinary Business, Engineering and Technology
Industry Advisory Board and intensive networking with local,
regional and global companies.
As a unit of the GSRD, UB's School of Engineering (SOE) is
the fastest growing School of Engineering in the nation
(among 300+ accredited engineering schools) and is home to
the largest graduate engineering program in Connecticut with
over 1,300 current graduate students; and is one of the four
largest engineering programs in New England. The School of
Engineering's recent accomplishments have been hailed in
academia, the engineering community and the media as an
amazing success story in the growth of academic quality,
enrollment and research productivity among engineering
schools in the country in the last 50 years.
